Accessibility
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use getlocal, on any device and with any assistive technology.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA, with a focus on phones. We test with axe-core at 360px and 390px, keyboard-only navigation and screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack).
What we support
- Pinch zoom and text scaling up to 200%; inputs use 16px text so iOS doesn’t auto-zoom.
- Labelled controls, visible focus, 44×44 tap targets and screen-reader announcements for new messages and alerts.
- Like and Pass buttons as an alternative to swiping.
- Reduced motion: animations, sheen effects and auto-advancing carousels stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Alt text on uploaded photos.
Known limitations
Voice notes don’t have automatic transcripts yet; senders can add a text caption. Some user-generated content may lack descriptions.
Report an issue
